OUR MISSION

Every year more and more Americans recognize that the educational system is in crisis. International "standardized" tests consistently rank the U.S.A. near the bottom of the list of all nations. The crisis of education is especially acute in Math. Universities, including the Ivy League schools, acknowledge serious gaps in basic math skills among their first year students.

Why Math has a unique role?

The most obvious aspect of the importance of Math education is an enormous range of applications in all sections of our lives. The cognitive value of learning Math is no less important. Math is universal language of all sciences. By studying Math you develop analytical skills, clarity and independent thinking, discipline, “process learning”, understanding of the process itself rather than only to results. Math teaches students to concentrate, helps them to develop work habits. Poincare said: “Mathematics is the art of giving the same name to different things” The language of math teaches us to look at things from various angles, to become aware of the way we are thinking, and listen to ourselves. In fact, there are very few things we can give our children in terms of building confidence in their abilities, self esteem, and a taste for intellectual activity, which would be more valuable and rewarding than math.

The goal of the S.M.ART School is to fill the gap between education in schools and the requirements of college system in USA, a gap created by the inefficiencies of Math education in American schools.
